$6.2M change-of-use permit converts 1828 Egbert from storage to office in Bayview

The Department of Building Inspection issued a $6.2 million change-of-use permit on March 30 for 1828 Egbert Avenue in Bayview Hunters Point. The permit converts a four-story moving-and-storage building to office use.

Per the permit description, the building will serve as a temporary location for officers for donning and doffing while a police station is constructed; the description notes that it will not serve as a police station and is not considered an essential services facility. The estimated cost was originally $7 million and was revised to $6.2 million. The four-story height and type-1 construction are unchanged.
